General Questions

What is supported living for young people?

Supported living for young people means you get to live in your own space while having access to help and guidance. It's designed for those aged 16+ who want to gain independence but still need some support.

Who is eligible for supported living for young people?

If you're 16+ and need help transitioning to independent living, you're likely eligible. Specific criteria might vary, so it’s best to contact us for detailed information.

How does supported living differ from traditional care settings?

Unlike traditional care settings, supported living allows you to live independently in your own home. Instead of being in a centralised facility, support comes to you based on your needs, helping you build autonomy and self-reliance.

 Living Arrangements and Support

How are living arrangements determined in supported living?

You can choose what works best for you. Whether you prefer living with roommates or having your own space, we tailor living arrangements to suit your preferences, ensuring you feel comfortable and supported.

What happens if I don't get on with my housemates?

We understand that not everyone will get along perfectly. If there are issues with housemates, our support staff are here to help mediate and resolve conflicts. If necessary, we can explore alternative living arrangements to ensure everyone feels safe and happy.

What types of support are offered in supported living?

Support can range from help with daily tasks and emotional support to skill development and social interactions. Whether you need a few hours of help a day or more intensive support, we’ve got you covered.

What role do support staff play in supported living?

Our support staff are here to guide you through various aspects of daily life. They offer assistance for 6-8 hours a week, helping you develop life skills, providing emotional support, and empowering you to reach your goals.

Education, Work, and Social Life

Are residents allowed to pursue education or work while in supported living?

Absolutely! Supported living encourages you to continue your education, develop new skills, and even find a job if you want to. We have our own education centre where you can upskill, gain work experience, and earn valuable qualifications.

Can residents of supported living maintain their social connections?

Yes, definitely. We encourage you to keep and build your social connections. Activities and community involvement are part of our support plan to ensure you stay engaged with your friends and surroundings.

Family Involvement

How can families and guardians stay involved in the supported living process?

Families and guardians are encouraged to be an active part of your journey. They can communicate with support staff, attend family meetings, and participate in planning to ensure a collaborative approach to your care.
